1. Information We Collect
We collect the following information to provide Hiro services:
- Phone number (for authentication via OTP)
- Name and profile photo (for identification)
- Location data (only during active missions, to connect Hiros and customers)
- Device identifiers (for push notifications)
- Payment details — bank account, IFSC, UPI ID (for withdrawal processing, stored encrypted)
- Uploaded documents — Aadhaar, school/college ID, PAN, police verification (for helper verification only)
2. How We Use Your Information
Your information is used solely to operate the Hiro platform:
- Matching customers with nearby verified Hiros
- Processing mission assignments and payments
- Verifying Hiro identity and eligibility
- Sending mission updates and notifications
- Detecting fraud or safety violations
- Improving app reliability and features
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for advertising.
3. Location Data
Location is collected only when:
- A Hiro is marked as "Available" and a customer has an active mission nearby
- An active mission is in progress (accepted or started)
Location tracking stops automatically when the mission is completed or cancelled, or the Hiro toggles availability off. We never track location in the background for inactive users.
4. Document Storage
Verification documents (Aadhaar, ID cards, PAN, police verification) are:
- Encrypted at rest using AES-256
- Accessible only to Hiro admin staff for verification purposes
- Deleted from active storage within 30 days of account closure
- Never shared with customers or third parties
5. Data Retention
- Account data: retained while your account is active
- Task history: retained for 2 years for dispute resolution
- Documents: retained for 1 year post-verification
- Chat messages: retained for 90 days

6. Security
Hiro uses industry-standard security measures:
- All API communication is over HTTPS/TLS
- Passwords/OTPs are never stored in plain text
- Payment details are encrypted before storage
- Regular security audits are conducted
Despite these measures, no system is 100% secure. Please report any vulnerabilities to contact@hiroapp.in.
7. Minors
Hiro allows helpers aged 14+ (school tier) with verified parental consent via a registered parent phone number. We take special care to protect minor users:
- Parent phone is required for school-tier registration
- School helpers have restricted work hours
- Parent contact is available to admins for emergency situations
8. Your Rights
- Access your personal data (request via contact@hiroapp.in)
- Correct inaccurate information (via profile edit)
- Delete your account and data (see how)
- Opt out of non-essential notifications (via Settings)
- Withdraw consent for location tracking (via availability toggle)
